In its most general sense, Pioneer Health and Missions (PHM) is committed to the finishing work of the Everlasting Gospel (cf. Rev 14:6-12). To best achieve this endeavor, we have dedicated ourselves to organization and structure, in keeping with the sacred texts and the pen of inspiration. It is written: “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Cor 14:40), the very counsel Moses received of Jethro, so we might know “wherein [we] must walk, and the work that [we] must do” (Exo 18:20). Further, the messenger of the LORD wrote,

without some form of organization there would be great confusion, and the work could not be carried forward successfully. To provide for the support of the ministry, for carrying the work in new fields, for protecting both the churches and the ministry from unworthy members, for holding church property, for the publication of the truth through the press, and for many other objects, organization was indispensable. (Lt32-1892.6)

Thus, PHM has embraced the need for organization, all the while understanding it must adhere to biblical principles and inspired counsel, if it hopes to see unity amongst the masses. For God’s people to be prepared to give the Loud Cry, they must be organized, trained, and equipped; filled with the Holy Spirit both individually and collectively. By partnering with independent groups throughout the country, PHM employs a biblical model that recognizes congregational unity, with leadership at the local (i.e., elder) level, all the while having an itinerant pastor as shepherd over many of these groups we call missions. The sacred texts are clear this model, as first seen in the book of Acts, is what is to be repeated in the last days.

In keeping with its organizational structure, PHM—being an historic Seventh-day Adventist ministry, not associated with the corporate, 501(c)(3) Seventh-day Adventist General Conference—understands it is biblically acceptable and permissible to receive both tithe and offerings “for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Eph 4:12). These funds are then disbursed among the many administrative and frontline projects (e.g., speaking engagements, out-of-the city ministry, publishing, education, etc.), because we recognize “the labourer is worthy of his reward” and we are not to “muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn” (1 Tim 5:8). Individual missions return a portion of tithe to PHM to help sustain the work; in addition, many individuals return tithe to empower the Gospel. We have been counseled,

The payment of the tithe was but a part of God’s plan for the support of His service…. For special occasions there were freewill offerings…. In the hands of His followers, Christ has placed the treasures of the gospel, and upon them He has laid the responsibility of giving the glad tidings of salvation to the world. Surely our obligations are much greater than were those of ancient Israel. (AA 336-7)

Recognizing the receipt of tithe is a solemn responsibility, PHM ensures every disbursement is in keeping with sacred principles and testimonies.

Finally, the work God has given PHM to do involves no “Jerusalem centers, no kingly power” (8T 233); at the same time, we recognize order is heaven’s first law, and thus, order and discipline must reign in the closing hours of earth’s history. A failure to organize, biblically, while maintaining order and structure, we’re told will result in giving satan the advantage (cf. 1T 210). God forbid we allow this to happen on our watch, as we do all we can to hasten Jesus’ return.


Unity on the Subject of Sin

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

During the final three days of May 2018, board members and speakers of Pioneer Health & Missions (PHM) gathered in the Prescott, Arizona, area to pray, study, and fellowship together. Over the course of three days, we covered much ground in the way of mission, vision, and biblical essentials. Our primary aim was to “stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Phl 1:27); in so doing, the LORD blessed, abundantly!

In discussing various biblical essentials, our top priority was to come together on an understanding of sin, as presented in the sacred texts. Realizing this has been a subject of much disagreement amongst many within the remnant movement, we praised God there was zero contention or division in our comprehension of the matter! We all understood the subject precisely as the Bible presents it; moreover, as the pioneers of our movement taught it. To that end, all decided a symposium was necessary to faithfully present the subject to those who might be struggling in their understanding. Amongst the studying and praying and fellowship, we enjoyed the beautiful Prescott countryside during our several walks. The fresh air, sunshine, flora, and fauna were invigorating for body, mind, and spirit, and also brought a greater love for our Father in Heaven and His only-begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! Notwithstanding the pandemic of sin in this world, the fingerprints of the Master Architect and Builder drove us to a deeper revelation of the plan of redemption and the future restoration of all things. Then, to bring a close to our gathering, we enjoyed what all agreed was the most beautiful communion service we’d ever experienced. Reverent. Joyous. Not rushed. True unity amongst the brethren in Christ, our Saviour!

Thus, we are excited to share with all who come to know PHM, this is God’s work—raised up by His strong hand in Christ and led by His spirit. Please join us in our desire and journey to finish the work, not simply to perpetuate it. The time is at hand to proclaim the Everlasting Gospel, in the spirit of primitive godliness, “to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” (Rev 14:6). “To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts” (Heb 4:7).

This is our work as members of PHM and as Seventh-day Adventists!



In light of the recent discussion and controversy over the subject of abortion within the Seventh-day Adventist Church, its explicit support in its official publications, and the practice of the same within its healthcare system, we at Pioneer Health and Missions desire to make known our position on the taking of life in general, and abortion in particular, with the following affirmations:

We believe human life is a gift of Almighty God and is, therefore, sacred. It is the responsibility of all Christians, especially healthcare practitioners, to respect the sanctity of life. (cf. Exo 20:13; Deu 30:19; Mat 5:21, 22)

We believe human life begins at conception, that is, the fertilization of the female egg by the male sperm. (cf. Psa 139:15; Jer 1:5)

We believe human life belongs to God; thus, no person is at liberty to take human life at any stage of life, from conception until death. (cf. Eze 18:4; Exo 20:13; Luk 1:41, 44)

We believe abortion, for any reason, whatsoever, is defined as murder by the Bible, notwithstanding its legal status within various nation-states and territories around the world. (cf. Exo 1:16, 17; 20:13; 21:22)

We believe for one human to decide to take another human’s life is an act of putting oneself above the law of God and, therefore, making oneself God. The Bible defines this as blasphemy. (cf. Exo 21:21; 22:2, 3; Mat 26:52; 1 Tim 1:13, 20) We believe healthcare practitioners, in particular physicians, are subject to the edict, “do no harm,” and thus, are to be the foremost protectors of the unborn. A failure to uphold this high responsibility warrants nothing less than removal from the profession.

We believe, notwithstanding the reasons many who normally reject abortion might give for its practice—for example, rape, incest, and the life of the mother—God’s wisdom and law must prevail: To take matters into one’s own hands, again demonstrates a lack of trust and man making himself God.

We believe it is important to understand, however, those who have had an abortion for these, or other reasons, are not outside the mercy of God’s forgiveness. Through repentance, confession, and consecration, God’s grace, through the impartation of His spirit, is sufficient to redeem the individual. Moreover, a child born as a result of such a situation can indeed receive God’s strength to live a life of victory in Christ.

The gravity of this matter cannot be overstated. God’s remnant people cannot be participating in any practice contrary to His character, and therefore, His law (cf. Isa 8:20). We must be completely surrendered and trust that God is in control and will work out all things both to will and to do of His good pleasure. May the LORD grant us wisdom, as we seek to provide an answer for the hope that lies within us, with meekness and with fear, regarding this issue, as well all controversial subjects that may come our way.
